Creative Placemaking

Mission Statement:
The Marcy-Holmes Creative Placemaking Committee’s goal is to
Leverage the full range of Marcy-Holmes’ creative community to help shape the physical, cultural and social character of the neighborhood and to promote positive changes.
This includes—but is not limited to—initiatives that:
- identify, engage, promote and advocate for the broad creative community in Marcy-Holmes engage a full range of creative thinkers and doers—across disciplines, identities, ages and interests—to use innovative, collaborative problem-solving and to develop ingenious, thoughtful and practical solutions to community-based issues and opportunities.
- help animate public and private spaces, rejuvenate structures and streetscapes, spur economic development and improve public safety and neighborhood livability
- encourage partnerships among public, private, non-profit and community sectors
- bring diverse people together to celebrate, inspire and be inspired by the neighborhood’s unique sense of place
