Notice of Public Hearing: 401 University Avenue SE Redevelopment


Scott Nelson of DJR Architecture has filed the following applications to allow a new, five-story multiple-family dwelling with 43 dwelling units at the property located at 401 University Avenue SE:

  • Conditional use permit to increase the maximum height in the R5 Multiple-Family District
  • Variance to reduce the front yard setback requirement along University Avenue SE
  • Variance to reduce the corner yard setback requirement along 4th Avenue SE
  • Variance to reduce the interior side yard setback requirement along the east property line
  • Variance to increase the maximum allowed floor area ratio
  • Variance to reduce the minimum vehicle parking requirement
    • Variance to increase the percentage of required parking spaces that may be satisfied with compact parking spaces
  • Site plan review

The City Planning Commission will meet on Monday, October 02, 2017 at 4:30 p.m., in Room 317 City Hall, 350 S. 5th St., Minneapolis, MN.  Interested parties are invited to attend and be heard. Planning Department staff will issue a recommendation to the Planning Commission. After hearing from the public, the Planning Commission will make a determination based on required legal findings of fact.
