Informational Open House: General Mills site redevelopment

Doran is hosting an informational open house to share their development plans for 200 University Ave SE (PID #2302924130039), 215 2nd St. SE (PID #2302924130037), 223 3rd Ave. SE (PID #2302924130038), and 229 2nd St SE (PID #2302924130040). It is more easily recognized as the existing parking lot between University Avenue SE and 2nd Street SE, and between 2nd and 3rd Avenues SE. The company is inviting the neighborhood to:

Rebecca Green on behalf of Doran-CSM SE I, LLC has applied for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new 374 unit residential building at 215 2nd Street SE.  The property is located in the St. Anthony Falls Historic District.

The Certificate of Appropriateness application process is described in Chapter 599, Article VI of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances:

The Heritage Preservation Commission will meet on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 317 City Hall, 350 South 5th Street, Minneapolis, MN. Interested parties are invited to attend and be heard. Planning Department staff will issue a recommendation to the Heritage Preservation Commission. After hearing from the public, the Heritage Preservation Commission will make a determination based on required legal findings of fact. Please visit for the agenda with staff reports (web page will be updated by the end of the day Monday prior to the meeting date).

In accordance with the Preservation Ordinance, all property owners within 350 feet of the subject property are notified of this public hearing.
