Since 2009, Sergio Vucci and Andy Sturdevant have presented Common Room, a month-long series of interactive art events that were originally held in a refurbished art deco office at The Soap Factory in Minneapolis. In 2011, they took the concept outside and transformed it into a series of walking tours. The Youth Tour is one such experience. On the Youth Tour, a group of students from the Marcy Open School (located near The Soap Factory) ranging in ages from 10 to 13, created a tour focused around Marcy Field, the open park that serves as a playground, gathering place and landmark for the school. The students walked Common Room attendees through important historical landmarks, remembered experiences, sites for games, points of conflict, and other notable spaces they've experienced through in their childhoods.
