Park Dedication Fee Task Force

For now, MHNA's Park Dedication Fees Task Force has largely the completed the tasks it set out to achieve in 2020. The Task Force will likely reconvene in 2023 after more funds have been generated by development in the neighborhood.

As a result of its work in 2020, this task force generated three official requests of the MPRB's Commissioners. They can be found in the following three letters:

Holmes Park letter | May 20, 2020

Marcy Park letter | August 1, 2020

Father Hennepin Park letter | August 1, 2020

This meeting focused exclusively on Father Hennepin Park.

Jon Duesman (MPRB Project Manager) and Cliff Swenson (MPRB Director of Design & Project Management) presented the current design of Father Hennepin Park that the MPRB could start implementing in early 2021. The team would like to discuss the possible use of Park Dedication Fees that Marcy-Holmes current holds, and how these funds could complement funding already set aside for the park.
